Amateur home movie of Trans Sahara expedition by tourists in 1971 through Algeria and Republic of Niger, North Africa.
Panning view of a collection of grass huts, a small village in Niger. A local man holds his arms up as a gesture of welcome to the group of travellers. Close up of some flowering plant. A Tuareg camel train passes by. The Land Rovers continue their journey leaving the small settlement.
Niger. Elutaztam a világ egyik legszegényebb országába, Nigerbe, ahol összegyűlik mindenki, aki Afrikából Európába akar jutni.
A strapabíró kamerát a Rexfilm Kft. kölcsönözte.
A series of films showing the emergency relief work that Caritas does around the world and the part that CAFOD plays within it.
Three Los Angeles residents travel to Niger, a remote and volatile desert region in Southen Sahara, which has been on theUS Department of State "travel warning list" for decades. Wide view of the landscape pockmarked with shallow hollows in the rock, all perfectly circular. Local Berbers walk amongst the circular pits to produce salt from the evaporating waters. Teguiddan Tessoumt Salt Flats. Black women and children stop for the camera. They all have large bowls of earth carried on their heads. A child collects water from a well and fills a bucket for his goat herd. He is wearing nothing other than a sack cloth wrapped around his shoulders.

The 4WD Land Rover safari continues through Central Niger towards a double peaked mountain in the distance. The Land Rovers negotiate some steep rocky slopes. The explorer passengers have got out of the vehicles and watch them climbing the trail. View over the rocky terrain as a man and camel approach. An oasis of palm trees and a small settlement beneath a mountainous backdrop. Children stare at the camera. A woman is collecting water for her goats. The group in their Land Rovers are parked up for a lunch break and are surrounded by village children. The vehicles now navigate their way down a steep rocky slope as the passengers walk down. At the bottom people are collecting water and washing by a stream.
