"Mungu aliupenda ulimwengu hivi kwamba alimtoa Mwanawe wa pekee, ili kila mtu amwamini asipotee, bali awe na uzima wa milele" (Yohana 3:16).

Ukurasa huu unaonyesha kwamba Mungu anakupenda na alikuumba kwa maisha yenye kujaa maana na furaha (Yohana 10:10)!

Kwa nini wengi wetu hawapati hii maisha tele? Ni kwa sababu sote tunatenda dhambi, na dhambi zetu zimetutenga na Mungu (Warumi 3:23).

Tuliumbwa kwa ajili ya ushirika na Mungu, lakini kwa sababu ya upinzani wetu wa kiburi, tulichagua njia yetu wenyewe, na ushirika wetu na Mungu ukavunjika. Hii kiburi cha kujiamulia, kilichojidhihirisha kwa mtazamo wa uasi au kutokujali, ndicho Biblia inachokiita dhambi.

"Mshahara wa dhambi ni mauti" (Warumi 6:23). Mauti ni utengano wa kiroho na Mungu.

Mungu ni mtakatifu na watu ni wenye dhambi, na pengo kubwa linatutenganisha. Tunajaribu daima kumfikia Mungu na maisha tele kwa jitihada zetu wenyewe, kama maisha mazuri, falsafa, au dini - lakini tunashindwa.

Yesu Kristo ni njia pekee ya Mungu kutuondolea dhambi zetu. Kupitia yeye tunaweza kujua na kuelewa upendo na mpango wa Mungu kwa maisha yetu! Yesu alikufa badala yetu (Warumi 5:8), akafufuka kutoka kwa wafu (1 Wakorintho 15:3-6), na ndiye njia pekee kwa Mungu (Yohana 14:6). Mungu ameleta daraja lililounganisha pengo linalotutenganisha naye kwa kumtuma Mwanawe, Yesu Kristo, kufa msalabani badala yetu na kulipa adhabu ya dhambi zetu.

Ni lazima tumkubali Yesu Kristo binafsi kwa imani kama Mwokozi na Bwana; ndipo tutaweza kujua na kuelewa upendo na mpango wa Mungu kwa maisha yetu (Waefeso 2:8-9). Tunapomkubali Kristo, tunapata kuzaliwa upya.

Yesu anasema, "Tazama, nasimama mlangoni, na kupiga hodi; mtu akisikia sauti yangu na kuufungua mlango, nitaingia kwake" (Ufunuo 3:20).

Kumkubali Kristo kunajumuisha kugeukia Mungu kutoka kwa nafsi yetu (tubu) na kumtumainia Kristo aingie maishani mwetu kusamehe dhambi zetu na kutufanya tuwe kama anavyotaka. Kuwa na makubaliano ya kiakili tu kwamba Yesu Kristo ni Mwana wa Mungu na kwamba alikufa msalabani kwa ajili ya dhambi zako haitoshi. Wala kuwa na uzoefu wa kihisia pekee. Unamkubali Yesu Kristo kwa imani, kama tendo la mapenzi.

Unaweza kumkubali Kristo sasa kwa imani kwa njia ya sala.

Sala ni mazungumzo na Mungu. Mungu anajua moyo wako na hajali sana maneno yako kama anavyojali mtazamo wa moyo wako. Hapa kuna sala iliyopendekezwa:

"Bwana Yesu, nakuhitaji. Asante kwa kufa msalabani kwa ajili ya dhambi zangu. Nafungua mlango wa maisha yangu na kukupokea kama Mwokozi na Bwana wangu. Asante kwa kusamehe dhambi zangu na kunipa uzima wa milele. Chukua udhibiti wa kiti cha enzi cha maisha yangu. Nifanye kuwa aina ya mtu unayetaka niwe."

Ikiwa sala hii inaonyesha hamu ya moyo wako, basi unaweza kuomba sala hii sasa na Kristo atakuja katika maisha yako, kama alivyosema.
