When money start to lead us… we don’t think of the circumstance. This is a movie based on what is going on in the world about human trafficking, specifically in Africa. A foreign billionaire son is sent to a job to Namibia in search of a exact blood cluster that is not common in the world, and a deal went erroneous.

The Namibia Film Week will kick off on Wednesday in Windhoek.

The four-day Namibian film screening events will showcase shorts, features, and documentaries all produced by Namibians. 

The initiative, a brainchild of the Namibia Film Commission, is part of their mandate to advance the local film industry.

Film Week further aims to create a platform to showcase new local films, create an appetite for local film productions and influence how people perceive the world through film.

The public will be treated to a different range of genres, film formats, and lengths throughout the four nights.

On Wednesday, Ompata, a high-tempo film by Nino Pequeno, will open the film week, followed by films such as Zula Boyz by veteran filmmaker Vickson Hangula.

The films will be screened at different venues across Windhoek, such as Lemon Tree Restaurant on the 26 and 29 of October, Katutura Community Art Centre on the 27th and the City of Windhoek New Building Upper Parking on the 28th of October.

The gates open at 19:30 and admission is free.

Set during Apartheid in Namibia, 'Dead River' follows the unlikely friendship of a farm worker's son and the farmer's daughter.
David and Lisa meet through the melodies she plays on her flute and he whistles. Lisa's racist father outlaws the friendship and sends his daughter to the hostel.

Before the end of Apartheid, Lisa returns to the farm as a young woman and meets David again. Events take a turn for the worse and Lisa sees no other option than to flee the country.

Many years later Lisa returns. She is here to face her past and to visit the graves at Dead River.

Quinton Pieters, who was sentenced to 163 years in prison for various crimes, remains hopeful that one day he will reclaim his freedom.

This is the movie with which Namibia broke the Guinness World Record in 2014 for "Fastest Feature Film - Script to Screen". Produced and directed by Caleb Cindano. We made the entire movie in 10 days 4 hours 47 minutes with a production budget of Namibian $53,000 (approximately US$4000). Guinness rules were tight, when stopwatch started we weren't allowed to have story/script, actors, crew or locations. Stopwatch stopped on first frame of movie at the premiere screening.
