The Archive of World War Two is a series of original archive documentaries filmed under actual battle conditions by service and newsreel cameramen attached to American, British, French, Russian and enemy forces. NTSC - Black & White - 74 minutes

The film was intended as a follow-up to the successful British documentary film Desert Victory (1943). Frederic Krome's article "Tunisian Victory" and Anglo-American Film Propaganda in World War II from The Historian details the acrimony between the British and US film makers on the project. Most of the actual American combat footage taken during Operation Torch was destroyed when the ship carrying it was sunk, requiring many "battle scenes" to be reshot in the U.S. by director John Huston. Huston restaged several battles and liberations to achieve high quality footage, even going so far as to film some air battle scenes (in the Mohave Desert) and in Orlando, Florida. The British recognized the dubious nature of the film, though they themselves were guilty of the same recreations in wartime propaganda films.

Saturday 10pm & Sunday 4pm ET - The U.K. and U.S. governments co-produced this World War II propaganda film on the North Africa campaign. Released in early 1944, it used combat footage, reenacted scenes, animated maps, and featured segments with President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and French General Charles de Gaulle. The campaign ended with an Allied victory in May 1943, when approximately 275,000 Axis soldiers surrendered.

يروي الفيلم الكفاح المسلح للمقاومة التونسية ضد الاستعمار الفرنسي، ويغطي المرحلة التاريخية الممتدة من عام 1881 وصولا إلى ستينيات القرن العشرين.
وعلى فرضية أن التاريخ المكتوب أكذوبة المنتصرين، يخوض الفيلم في تاريخ المقاومة المسلحة في تونس انطلاقا من شهادة صانعيه الحقيقيين وليس نقلاعما تداوله المؤرخون وما دوّنوه في عهود السلطة.
يلخص الفيلم فترة تاريخية فارقة في تونس ويهتم بشريحة خاصة لم تنل حظها من الاهتمام والتوثيق ألا وهي شريحة الفلاقة، وسيتابع المشاهد هذه الرحلة الاستقصائية التوثيقية من خلال لقاءات بمختصين في التاريخ ورصد لسلسلة شهادات لعناصر من الفلاقة الذين مازالوا على قيد الحياة وهم يتحدثون عن ذكريات وذاكرة وطنية منسية،وتفاصيل حياتهم في الكهوف والمغاور والصحاري.
كما ينقل الفيلم شهادات لبعض أبناء الجنرالات وموظفي الجيش الفرنسي الذين كان لهم وجود في فترة الاستعمار بتونس والجزائر وكذلك شهادات بعض أبناء من مات من الفلاقة، إضافة إلى عرض وثائق وفيديوهات أرشيفية عن عمليات تسليم السلاح من قبل بعض عناصر الفلاقة بطلب مُلحّ من بورقيبة وشهادات الفلاقة إزاء تلك المرحلة.
إضافة إلى الشهادات يعيد الفيلم تجسيد أهم المعارك والمحطات الفاصلة والحاسمة من تاريخ الصراع بين المحتل الفرنسي وثوار الفلاقة من كل جوانبها العسكرية والسياسية والمجتمعية وحتى النفسية.

مع قوات الاحتلال الفرنسية فى تونس يقوم باختطاف الفتاة، يذهب مصباح إلى القائد
ويشكو له، لكنه لا يحصل على مراده، يقرر أن ينتقم، يتم القبض عليه،
ويودع فى السجن ثلاثة أعوام، تتبلور فكرة الانتقام فى رأسه، ويصبح
أحد أعضاء الفلاقة، وهناك يلتقى بخاطف حبيبته وجها لوجه، وقبل أن يقتتلا،
يكتشفان أن عليهما مواجهة المستعمر، ويموتان أثناء معركة رمادة الخالدة

الشهيد البطل مصباح الجربوع كان واحدا من أبرز ا لمقاومين للاحتلال في الجنوب الشرقي من وطننا وبالتحديد في ولايتي مدنين وتطاوين في أواخر الخمسينات من القرن العشرين وإبّان معركة التحرير، وبالتحديد في معركة رمادة التي سقط فيها مصباح شهيدا برصاص رشاشات الطائرات الفرنسية في أرض منبسطة لا مجال فيها للاختباء بعد أن أذاق غلاة الاستعمار الويلات وقتل منهم وجرح العشرات. فمن هو الشهيد مصباح الجربوع؟
ولد مصباح الجربوع سنة 1914، أي مع اندلاع الحرب العالمية الأولى، وكأن قدره قد هيّأه ليكون مقاوما محاربا مجاهدا طول حياته، منذ نشأته بمدنين وحذقه الصيد والقنص والرماية، وهي عوامل مساعدة ولا شكّ لإعداد مقاوم من أعلى طراز (عيار 28). وتزوج وهو ابن العشرين، وانخرط في العمل النقابي من أول وهلة، أي من سنة تأسيس الاتحاد العام التونسي للشغل سنة 1946، وكان من المساهمين في تركيز الحركة النقابية بمدنين وبتطاوين لمدة قصيرة، كما انخرط معه أخوه المناضل المرحوم علي الجربوع الذي كان له دور كبير، شبيه بدور الشهيد مصباح في الحركة التحريرية وما بعدها. وسرعان ما انضمّ الشهيد مصباح الى صفوف الحزب الحر الدستوري التونسي عن قناعة والذي تأسّست فيه شعب دستورية عديدة في مدنين أي بالمنطقة العسكرية المحتلة
استشهد مصباح الجربوع في 26 جوان 1958 قرب برج رمادة أثناء معركة الجلاء عن الجنوب التونسي بعد غارة جوية قام بها الطيران الفرنسي، الذي كان متمركزًا آنذاك بالجزائر.

A nocturnal descent, the film uses startling imagery that evokes 21st-century political traumas, most blatantly the death of Tunisian street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi. While Fatma combats misogyny in her own profession and political pressures in the city at large, she begins to succumb to obsession with an increasingly confounding case.
