It appears that Hollywood may be revisiting one of its most beloved characters, as speculation grows around a potential sequel to Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks is rumored to reprise his iconic role as the simple yet extraordinary Forrest, in what could be Forrest Gump 2: A New Journey.
While no confirmation has been made, insiders suggest that Paramount Pictures and director Robert Zemeckis have explored ideas to bring the character back for another heartwarming adventure. According to sources, the screenplay may be inspired by Gump & Co., the 1995 novel by Winston Groom that served as a follow-up to the original book.
Forrest Gump (1994) was a cultural phenomenon, winning six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Tom Hanks. The film followed the titular character’s accidental involvement in key moments of American history, all while holding onto his undying love for Jenny, played by Robin Wright.
