Bodycam of Ashe County NC Deputies stop of Stuart Chad Mast quickly leading to death by asphyxiation

Bodycam Footage of Ashe County Sherrifs deputies stop of Stuart Chad Mast. The stop escalated quickly leaving Mast deceased. This happened just outside of Jefferson, NC. in September of 2024.

Ashe County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide with asphyxiation and blunt force trauma as contributing factors. Ashe County Grand Jury declined to bring charges on all three deputies on Friday, May 2nd, 2025
