Guinée-Bissau, 1969. Une guerre violente oppose l’armée coloniale portugaise aux guérilleros du Parti Africain pour l'Indépendance de la Guinée et du Cap-Vert. Nome quitte son village et rejoint le maquis. Après des années, il rentrera en héros. Mais la liesse laissera bientôt la place à l’amertume et au cynisme.
