Ramaphosa Sends South African Diplomats to US to Mend Ties | Firstpost Africa
South Africa sent a delegation of senior diplomats to Washington to clarify 'misconceptions' from the Trump administration that have soured bilateral ties. The delegation was led by South Africa’s G-20 Sherpa, Zane Dangor, who met with the U.S. National Security Council’s Africa Director, the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, and Treasury Department representatives. This meeting comes after the U.S. expelled veteran South African Ambassador, Ebrahim Rasool, last month over his controversial remarks against U.S. President Donald Trump.
